The online portal for the 2025 cycle will be open between February and April 2025 for the submission of applications by host institutions and their validation by National Commissions.

The deadline for submission is 30 April 2025 at 23:59 (Paris time).

It is important to note that only complete applications accompanied by the required letters of support will be considered.

As a reminder, the proposed Chair or Network must meet all the required criteria described in the Programme’s Guidelines.

National Commissions are encouraged to prioritize interdisciplinary proposals that include forward-looking approaches and address gender equality.

Furthermore, applications should demonstrate efforts to make research outputs and educational materials openly and freely accessible, in line with UNESCO’s Open Access Policy, the 2019 Recommendation on Open Educational Resources (OER), and the 2021 Recommendation on Open Science.

Throughout the preparation of applications, National Commissions are encouraged to facilitate discussions between candidate institutions and relevant UNESCO teams well before the application deadline, in order to ensure stronger synergies with the Organization and its ongoing activities.
