The Faculty of Technology at Abou Bekr Belkaïd University – Tlemcen hosted a scientific day on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, organised in coordination with the Applied Energy and Thermal Laboratory (ETAP). The event was attended by a large audience, notably doctoral students and enthusiasts in scientific and technical fields.

The series of presentations was inaugurated by Professor Abdelkrim El Yazid from the University of Tlemcen with a talk entitled “Turbulent Combustion: Challenges and Applications,” highlighting the complexity of turbulent combustion phenomena and emphasising the challenges involved in mastering them in industrial and energy sectors.

The second presentation was delivered by Professor Samir Hanchi from the Houari Boumediène University of Science and Technology (USTHB – Algiers), who presented “Application of Dynamic Meshing for the Study of Flapping Propulsion and for the Simulation of Flow Around a Helicopter.”

The day concluded with a lecture by Professor Abdellah Benarous from the University of Blida, entitled “Fire Safety Engineering: A Field That Distinguishes Academics from Fire Technicians.” His presentation addressed fire safety engineering as an interdisciplinary field that combines scientific rigour with technical requirements, playing a vital role in protecting human lives and infrastructure.

The event sparked intellectual interaction among participants, leading to rich discussions and fruitful exchanges of ideas, reflecting the vibrant research activity taking place at the university across various scientific disciplines.
