As part of the official celebrations of the National Student Day, held every year on May 19th, and at the invitation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abou Bekr Belkaid University – Tlemcen participated in the first edition of the national ceremony awarding the President of the Republic Prize to innovative researchers.

 

The university delegation included the university rector, the dean of the faculty of medicine, the director of the National Higher School of Applied Sciences, and the director of the i2E student center, as well as two outstanding students: Mohamed Didi, top graduate of the University of Tlemcen, and Yacine Bouarfa, president of the university life promotion club.

 

The ceremony took place on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Abdelhafid Ihddaden Scientific and Technological Pole in Sidi Abdellah, under the supervision of Prime Minister Mr. Nadir ELarbaoui and in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari.

 

This important presidential initiative reflects the President of the Republic’s commitment to promoting scientific research and encouraging the spirit of innovation among university elites by recognizing the best research with high scientific and practical value in strategic fields such as food security, health security, artificial intelligence, and the knowledge economy.

 

Six laureates from the categories of teacher-researchers and innovative students were honored during this ceremony, attended by a prestigious audience composed of academics, students, government members, and representatives of various university and research institutions
