“Green Economy and Sustainable Finance: Towards Innovative Models for Optimal Resource Allocation”

The Research Laboratory on Money and Financial Institutions of the Maghreb of the Faculty of Economics, Commerce, and Management Sciences, organized on Thursday, June 12, 2025, a national conference (In-Person and Virtual) titled: “Green Economy and Sustainable Finance: Towards Innovative Models for Optimal Resource Allocation.” The event was chaired by Dr. Rim Bouchlit and brought together a group of professors and researchers from various Algerian universities.

The conference focused on several key topics, including:

• Concepts and frameworks of the green economy and sustainable finance

• Tools and methods of sustainable financing

• Challenges and obstacles facing sustainable finance

• Policies and regulations supporting green growth

• Leading international experiences in green finance

At the conclusion of the conference, several major recommendations were made, notably:

• Developing a comprehensive national strategy for the green economy, setting priorities and actions for the short, medium, and long term.

• Encouraging diversification of sustainable finance sources, including green Islamic finance, crowdfunding, and impact investment funds.

• Promoting the circular economy by adopting clean production techniques in the industrial sector and providing incentives to companies that comply with environmental standards.

• Calling on legislative bodies to enact new laws supporting the transition to a green economy and to review existing laws to remove barriers to environmental projects.
