The i2E Center: Student Innovation Serving the Blue Economy

The Student Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (i2E) at the University of Tlemcen hosted a major event on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, marked by a spirit of innovation, the promotion of academic skills, and the advancement of the blue economy.
The ceremony was attended by the Rector of the University of Tlemcen, Prof. MEGHACHOU Mourad, the Director of Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture of the wilaya, the Director General of the National Agency for the Valorization of Research and Technological Development Results (ANVREDET), as well as the project leader and experts involved in the blue economy initiative. Also present were the Director of the i2E Center, university branch officials, the Director of the Incubator at the Fisheries Research and Development Center, the Director of the Beni Saf Unit, and specialists from the National Sanitation Office.
More than twenty innovative student projects, developed under the supervision of professors and experts, were showcased on this occasion. These projects mainly focused on the fields of agriculture and aquaculture, highlighting prototypes designed to address the challenges of sustainable development and technological innovation within the framework of the blue economy.
The event aimed to showcase these innovative prototypes created by students, leveraging the expertise of their mentors and the i2E Center, with a view to both economic and social valorization.
This initiative is part of a national drive to encourage innovation and technological entrepreneurship within higher education institutions. It reaffirms the strategic role of the i2E Center in supporting young talents and strengthening the links between universities and priority socio-economic sectors.
