The Laboratory of Public Governance and Social Economy (GPES) of the Faculty of Economic, Commercial and Management Sciences organized, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the first national colloquium on environmental taxation and the green economy, held in a hybrid format (in-person and online), under the chairmanship of Prof. Abdelmadjid Bouzarin, and attended by a large audience of teachers, researchers, and PhD students from several Algerian universities.
This scientific gathering served as a rich and constructive platform for discussion on ways to strengthen environmental taxation as a lever for sustainable development and the promotion of the green economy. It featured a series of high-level presentations addressing key themes of the colloquium, including:
• The assessment of the current state of the green economy in Algeria.
• The role of environmental taxation and fiscal incentives in promoting eco-friendly behavior.
• Mechanisms for improving the efficiency of environmental taxation.
• Leading international experiences in adopting the green economy model.
The scientific sessions were marked by the quality of presentations and the depth of discussions, giving this colloquium both academic and professional significance.
The GPES Laboratory expressed its sincere appreciation to the scientific and organizing committees, as well as to all participants, both national and international, for their valuable contributions to the success of this event.
A special acknowledgment was also extended to the supervising team and everyone who contributed to the success of this scientific event, which reinforces the university’s role in promoting sustainable development and protecting the environment.
