The third edition of the International Days of Pediatric Surgery officially opened on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Faculty of Medicine of Abou Bekr Belkaid University – Tlemcen, under the auspices of the Directorate of Health and Population of Tlemcen Province, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and the Specialized Mother and Child Hospital, in the presence of Pr.MEGHACHOU Mourad , the University’s Rector.

 

This opening day brought together a large number of specialists and researchers from both national and international medical and academic institutions. The scientific presentations focused on key themes in pediatric surgery, including the management of scoliosis in children, the creation of a national diagnostic and treatment network, as well as the handling of traumatic and orthopedic emergencies and osteoarticular infections.

 

The program also included scientific and practical workshops dedicated to quantitative gait analysis and surgical preparation of scoliosis patients, along with numerous poster presentations showcasing clinical studies and field experiences on bone malformations and modern surgical techniques.

 

This first day was marked by fruitful scientific exchanges, encouraging the sharing of clinical experiences and the strengthening of medical cooperation, with the goal of promoting pediatric surgery in Algeria and ensuring its development in line with international advancements.

 

The activities will continue on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Mother and Child Specialized Hospital, with sessions and hands-on workshops focused on practical applications in pediatric and orthopedic surgery.
