As part of its commitment to environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable development, the University of Tlemcen took part on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in the national initiative to plant one million trees, held under the slogan “Greenness, by the will of God.”

 

This participation is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to support national environmental programs by mobilizing its entire community — professors, students, and administrative staff — to actively contribute to reforestation and the restoration of natural spaces.

 

The initiative focused particularly on the reforestation of the state forest of Tzarift, with the participation of scientific clubs, faculty members, and supervisors, in a friendly atmosphere characterized by strong civic and ecological spirit. Another tree-planting campaign also took place at the new university campus of Aïn El Hout, in the presence of the university’s rector, Prof.  MEGHACHOU Mourad, vice-rector Prof.  BENSAIM Bounouar, as well as numerous students, social partners, and technical staff, whose contribution was key to the success of this environmental day.

 

This action marks the official launch of the reforestation campaign, which will continue until the end of October, encouraging all students to take part actively. It reflects the University of Tlemcen’s firm commitment to building a green and sustainable university, in harmony with the national goals for ecological transition
