On the morning of Sunday, October 26, 2025, the University of Tlemcen had the honor of welcoming Mr. Juan Manuel Cid Muñoz, Director of the Cervantes Institute in Oran, as part of an official visit held at the Rectorate.

 

The meeting was attended by Professor Mourad Meghachou, Rector of the University, Professor Ali Hamza Cherif, Vice-Rector for External Relations, Professor Abderrahmane Kherbouche, Dean of the Faculty of Letters and Languages, the Head of the Department of Spanish, and the Department’s Pedagogical Assistant.

 

Discussions focused on the prospects for academic and cultural cooperation between the Cervantes Institute in Oran and the University of Tlemcen. Both parties expressed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through the development of joint projects in the fields of Spanish language teaching, linguistic training, and the promotion of Hispanic culture.

 

Following the meeting, Mr. Juan Manuel Cid Muñoz visited the Department of Spanish, where he met with faculty members and students. This enriching exchange provided an opportunity to gain insight into the department’s pedagogical activities and academic dynamics.

 

This visit represents an important milestone in the consolidation of academic, linguistic, and cultural ties between the two institutions and reflects the University of Tlemcen’s commitment to international openness and cooperation in education and culture.
