On November 1st, 2025, Abou Bekr Belkaïd University of Tlemcen commemorated the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian War of Liberation, under the theme “A Message to the Generations.”
The ceremony, held on the main esplanade of the Faculty of Science, was attended by Pr. MEGHACHOU Mourad, Rector of the University, along with his Vice-Rectors, Deans, faculty members, and students.
In his address, the Rector highlighted the historical and educational significance of November 1954, symbolizing freedom, unity, and sacrifice. He urged students to honor the legacy of the Revolution through knowledge, innovation, and civic engagement.
On this occasion, Pr.BENDAOUED Nacer, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, delivered an academic lecture entitled “The Intellectual and Human Values of the Algerian Revolution,” shedding light on its moral and national dimensions. A documentary film depicting key moments of the liberation struggle was also screened.
The event concluded with an award ceremony honoring outstanding students, followed by the raising of the national flag to the sound of the Algerian national anthem.
Through this commemoration, the University of Tlemcen reaffirms its commitment to preserving national memory and passing on the spirit of November to future generations.
