Abou Bekr Belkaïd University of Tlemcen hosted,on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the opening ceremony of the fourth edition of the “Cinema at the University” program, a joint initiative by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Culture and Arts.

 

The event was held at the central library of the new university campus and welcomed cinema and cultural clubs from the universities of Algiers, Constantine, and Annaba, alongside a large audience of students, including participants from the Department of Arts at the University of Tlemcen, who praised both the organization and the quality of the films presented.

 

The ceremony opened with a speech by Pr.MEGHACHOU Mourad, rector of Abou Bekr Belkaïd University, who extended a warm welcome to guests, students, and institutional representatives, while commending the organizers and highlighting the significance of cultural initiatives within the university.

The event featured the screening of a selection of films that received enthusiastic engagement and interaction from the audience.

 

The program concluded with the official announcement of the establishment of the University of Tlemcen’s first cinema club, an initiative warmly welcomed and supported by the university administration, marking a significant milestone in fostering cultural and artistic dynamism within the university community.
