As part of the "Marhaba Day" initiative, launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to welcome international students, the University of Tlemcen organized, on Friday, November 14, 2025, a friendly ceremony for foreign students residing in its university housing.

 

The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. MEGHACHOU Mourad, Prof.  ZERGA Abdel Latif , Director of the Pan-African University Institute for Water and Energy Sciences, including Climate Change (PAUWES); his deputy, Mr. Abdelhafid SASSI; Ms. Khadidja BECHELAGHEM, Director of University Services; university residence officials; supervisory staff; and media representatives.

 

This initiative aims to strengthen cultural and scientific exchanges between Algerian students and their international peers while highlighting the richness of Algerian heritage and the country’s values of hospitality. It also provided an opportunity to showcase the efforts of the Ministry and the National Bureau of University Services to improve housing conditions and offer academic and social support, facilitating students’ integration into university life.
