The auditorium of the faculty of the medecine -downtown pole -hosted, on Monday 17 November 2025, the official launch of the Global Entrepreneurship Week GEW2025, held this year under the theme: “The Entrepreneurial Journey: From Idea to Realization.”

The event brought together a large audience of students, along with representatives of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA) and the Djazpora association.

 

From the opening session, the importance of entrepreneurship within the university environment was clearly evident. The Rector of the University of Tlemcen, Prof. MEGHACHOU Mourad, emphasized that entrepreneurial culture has become a key driver in transforming student ideas into concrete and innovative projects. Representatives from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the Ministry of Higher Education, Djazpora and CREA highlighted the need to support young innovators through mentoring, training, and access to funding.

 

The morning program included several presentations focusing on the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Algeria and the support mechanisms available for university-based startups. Mr. Chemseddine BENMOUSSAT delivered an analysis of the evolution of Algerian startups, while Prof. Zakaria SARI HASSOUN showcased the experience of the university incubator and its role in fostering student innovation.

 

The afternoon was dedicated to hands-on workshops covering idea formulation, business model development, pitching techniques, and the design of professional presentations. Students worked in groups to refine and develop viable project concepts.

 

The day concluded with a mini-exhibition of student projects, where prototypes and digital solutions were presented in a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere.

 

This edition of GEW2025 once again highlights the University of Tlemcen’s commitment to positioning itself as a hub for innovation, student empowerment, and the promotion of entrepreneurial spirit.
