Abou Bekr Belkaid University – Tlemcen hosted,on Tuesday, december 16, 2025,the official launch of the activities of the university scientific cinema club CinéVerse, in a prestigious artistic and academic setting within the Faculty of Letters and Arts. This event marks the establishment of a new university space dedicated to creativity and cinematic expression, aimed at students passionate about the seventh art.

This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to supporting cultural and artistic projects and encouraging student creativity. Beyond its introductory nature, the event served as a symbolic milestone highlighting the importance of promoting cinematic culture within the university environment.

The opening ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem and welcoming speeches. Pr.MEGHACHOU Mourad, Rector of the University of Tlemcen, addressed the audience to emphasize the central role of scientific clubs in the holistic development of students, the cultivation of their creative skills, and the consolidation of the university as a space for knowledge and culture.

The event brought together faculty deans, the sub-director of cultural activities, as well as a broad audience of teacher-sesearchers, and students, giving the occasion a significant academic and participatory dimension. The program also included a scholarly presentation highlighting the role of university cinema in identifying and nurturing artistic talent.

As part of its 2025–2026 annual program, the CinéVerse Club aims to engage a wide student audience interested in cinema and to energize cinematic life within the university, affirming that cinema is not only a means of artistic expression but also a key vector of culture and university identity.
