On Thursday, December 18, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine at Tlemcen University hosted the second edition of the scientific and cultural event titled “Medicine… in Clear Arabic”, in celebration of World Arabic Language Day. The event brought together , researcher-teachers, and students, in the presence of the Rector, Pr. MEGHACHOU Mourad, the deans, and Pr.KHELFAOUI Nazeha, Director of the Research Unit on Linguistics in the Arab World.

Organized by the Research Unit on Linguistics in coordination with the Faculties of Medicine and Arts and Languages, the event highlighted the importance of Arabizing medical sciences and demonstrated Arabic’s ability to accurately convey scientific knowledge. The program featured expert presentations on medical terminology in the works of Ibn al-Nafis, the treatment of contemporary diseases such as chronic kidney failure and lupus, public health, healthy aging, and the role of regional media in promoting Arabic in medical discourse.

Interactive spaces accompanied the lectures, including exhibitions of Arabic calligraphy, medical books in Arabic, scientific products, and workshops led by student clubs, providing a practical and participatory dimension to the event.

The closing session presented recommendations emphasizing Arabic’s capacity to integrate modern medical advancements and the importance of collaboration between scientific and literary faculties. The event concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Medicine and the Scientific and Technical Research Center for the Development of the Arabic Language.
