The University of Tlemcen and The Directorate-General for Scientific Research and Technological Development announce the organization of an International Conference on "the Protection and Sustainable Use of Transboundary Watercourses and the Prevention of Environmental Pollution", which will take place in Tlemcen, Algeria, from 26  29 October 2026.

This international scientific conference aims to promote dialogue, cooperation, and knowledge exchange among researchers, policymakers, international organizations, and practitioners on the sustainable management of shared water resources and the reduction of environmental pollution.

The conference will address key thematic areas, including:

· Climate change and pollution impacts on transboundary water systems

· Governance, legal frameworks, and institutional cooperation

· Water diplomacy and regional collaboration

· Innovative technologies and digital transformation in water management

· The role of science, education, and community engagement

The event will feature plenary sessions, thematic workshops, scientific exhibitions, and technical field visits, and will contribute to the development of policy recommendations and international research partnership.
