As part of efforts to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation, a cooperation agreement was signed on Sunday, February 15, 2026, between the University of Tlemcen and the Institut Cervantes – Oran.

The signing ceremony was presided over by Prof. MEGHACHOU Mourad, Rector of the University of Tlemcen, and Mr. Juan Manuel Cid Muñoz, Director of the Institut Cervantes – Oran, in the presence of the Vice-Rector for External Relations, Prof. HAMZA CHERIF Ali; the Dean of the Faculty of Letters and Arts, Prof. KHERBOUCHE Abderrahmane; the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Prof. HAMZA REGUIGUE MOURO Wassila; as well as several faculty members.

This agreement aims to consolidate academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions, particularly through supporting the teaching of the Spanish language, organizing joint scientific and cultural activities, and promoting the exchange of expertise for the benefit of students and faculty members.

This initiative is in line with the University’s policy to expand its network of international partnerships, strengthen the linguistic and cultural dimensions of higher education, and enhance its openness to the international academic community.
