Under the slogan Science, Loyalty and Excellence, the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences and Earth and Universe Sciences at the University of Tlemcen hosted, on Monday, 23 February 2026, the official inauguration ceremony of the newly established scientific club “Biotechnologie Sea,” in a distinguished scientific and heartfelt atmosphere.

The ceremony took place in the lecture hall under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Nesima Amal MOUKHTARI SOULEYMANE, in coordination with the Department of Cultural and Scientific Activities, and in the presence of the supervising professor, Mr. Larbi BELYACOUBI, alongside a significant number of faculty members and students.

The program featured a scientific lecture delivered by Mr. Larbi BELYACOUBI, addressing the prospects of biotechnology and its leading role in tackling future challenges, while emphasizing the importance of research and innovation in this vital field.

The event also included moments of remembrance in tribute to the valiant martyrs on the occasion of National Martyrs’ Day, as well as to teachers, students, and staff who left a meaningful mark on the Faculty’s journey. A particularly moving tribute was dedicated to the late student, Sara Ben Chaib (may she rest in peace), as a gesture of respect and faithful remembrance.

The ceremony further featured an interactive segment including religious and cultural questions, contributing to strengthening the spirit of belonging and engagement among club members and attendees.

The event concluded with a tribute to the family of the late student Sara Ben Chaib and with recognition of the efforts of the supervising professor and club members who contributed to the realization of this scientific initiative, in an atmosphere marked by gratitude and appreciation
