Participation of the University of Tlemcen Laboratories in the International Conference on Morisco Heritage in Constantine

A look back in images at the participation of the Laboratory of Andalusian Literary and Linguistic Studies (Faculty of Letters and Arts) and the Laboratory of Phenomenology and its Applications (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences) of the University of Tlemcen in the proceedings of the international conference entitled “Morisco Heritage in Algeria: Memory and Shared Identity,” held on 14–15 February 2026 in Constantine, under the high patronage of the Minister of Culture and Arts, Dr. Malika BENDOUDA.
The University of Tlemcen was represented at this scientific event by Dr. Hichem BENSNOUSI, Director of the Laboratory of Andalusian Literary and Linguistic Studies, and Dr. Ahmed ATTAR, Director of the Laboratory of Phenomenology and its Applications. Both actively contributed to enriching the scientific discussions related to Morisco heritage and its historical, cultural, and identity dimensions.
The conference also featured a tribute to the Dean of Tunisian historians, Professor Abdeljelil Temimi, and to the Dean of Algerian historians, Professor Nacereddine Saidouni, in the presence of distinguished official and academic figures, as well as prominent teacher-researchers from Algeria, Tunisia, Türkiye, and Spain.
The conference program was further enriched by parallel cultural activities, including a segment dedicated to the International Cultural Festival of Malouf and the premiere screening of the epic historical film “Ahmed Bey,” as part of ongoing efforts to promote shared memory and strengthen the cultural dimension of the event.
The proceedings concluded with the adoption of a set of recommendations and the announcement of a forthcoming edition, reflecting the significance of the theme addressed and the richness of the scientific exchanges that characterized this international academic gathering
