The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, in coordination with the Al-Amanie Association for Culture and Arts, organized, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the second edition of the National Competition for the recitation of Surat Al-Baqara according to the seven readings (individually and collectively), with reference to Nadhm Chatibiyyah (differences in the recitation of Surat Al-Baqara).
This event is part of the promotion of excellence in the sciences of the Holy Qur’an and the valorization of national competencies in this field. It took place in the presence of the Rector of the University, Professor Mourad Meghachou, the Vice-Rector for External Relations, Professor Ali Hamza Cherif, the deans of the faculties, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Nasr Eddine Bendaoued, accompanied by his deputies, in addition to faculty members and students.
The competition aimed to highlight Algerian reciters holding ijaza in the seven and ten readings (modjazoune) and to showcase their scientific competencies. It also saw the participation of contestants from several wilayas across the country, notably: Sétif, Algiers, Oran, Ouargla, Khenchela, Batna, and Tlemcen.
