As part of its efforts to promote scientific research and pedagogical innovation, the Department of French at the University of Tlemcen organized an international conference entitled: “Foreign Languages and Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Age: Challenges, Practices, and Interdisciplinary Perspectives for Adult Learning”, held on April 8–9, 2026.
The opening session was chaired by Mrs. Benamar Rabea, who invited the Rector of the University to deliver his opening address. This was followed by interventions from the Vice-Rector, Mr. Bensaim Bounouar, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Mrs. Moro Hamza Reguig Wassila, and the Head of the Department, Mr. Benmansour Smaïn, reflecting the institutional importance accorded to this scientific event.
The conference proceedings continued through a series of in-person and remote presentations delivered by national and international participants. The sessions were marked by the richness of the contributions and the quality of the discussions, which generated considerable interest among researchers, academics, and students.
The themes addressed highlighted current challenges and emerging practices related to the integration of artificial intelligence in foreign language teaching, while emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches and their relevance to adult learning contexts.
This scientific event underscores the University of Tlemcen’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, encouraging innovation in teaching and research, and supporting the development of digital competencies in the field of foreign languages.
