As part of promoting excellence, innovation, and gender equality in education, UNESCO is launching the call for applications for the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education – 2026 Edition.
This prize recognizes outstanding initiatives that make a significant contribution to advancing girls’ and women’s education, promoting gender equality, and empowering women and girls.
- Objectives of the Prize
Encourage innovative practices in the field of education
Support projects with strong social and sustainable impact
Promote equal opportunities between girls and boys
Contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4 and 5)
- Eligibility Criteria
The following may be nominated: :
Researchers and individuals engaged in educational projects searchers and individuals engaged in educational projects
Important:
Applications cannot be submitted directly by candidates themselves.
They must be submitted through the Vice-Rectorate for External Relations (VREX) before April 30, 2026.
- Application File
The application must include:
The official application form completed online on the UNESCO platform and downloaded
A detailed description of the project (objectives, methodology, results)
Evidence of impact (reports, data, testimonials, publications)
An official letter of recommendation issued by the University Rector
- Selection Criteria:
Projects will be evaluated based on:
Their innovative nature
Their real and measurable impact
Their contribution to gender equality
Their relevance to UNESCO’s objectives
Their potential for scalability and replication
- Final Provisions
Incomplete applications or those that do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered.
