As part of the sustained efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to establish a quality assurance system in the higher education sector, the University of Tlemcen hosted, on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the auditorium of the downtown pole, the regional training session dedicated to the heads of quality assurance units from higher education institutions across the western provinces of Algeria.

This session was held under the auspices of the National Commission for the Implementation of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (CIAQUES), within the framework of its national program, in the presence of the University Rector, Prof. Mourad Meghachou, as well as the Vice-Rector in charge of External Relations, Prof. Ali Hamza Cherif.

The training is conducted by a panel of experts from the National Quality Assurance Commission, led by Ms. Nacira Meziache. In this context, Dr. Zineb Haroun is delivering a presentation on university governance, while Prof. Abdennacer Khiri is leading the session on the institutional project. Dr. Beljilali Belhadj Kamel is presenting on artificial intelligence. In addition, the themes of continuous improvement are addressed with the participation of Dr. Fatima Nibouche, Prof. Ali Cheknane, and Prof. Toufik Boudjnane.

The first day’s proceedings began with intensive training sessions. The morning was devoted to university governance, quality assurance, and mechanisms for continuous improvement within institutions, while the afternoon focused on practical workshops addressing the technical aspects of quality assurance units’ operations.

The session will continue on its second day, scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026.
