The University of Tlemcen received, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Algeria, Mr. Wolfgang Spadinger. He was welcomed by the University Rector, Prof. Mourad MEGHACHOU, in the presence of senior university officials.

This visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between the University of Tlemcen and Austrian higher education institutions. Discussions focused on prospects for developing collaboration in the fields of training, scientific research, as well as enhancing academic exchange and mobility programs.

On this occasion, Prof. Ali HAMZA CHERIF, Vice-Rector in charge of External Relations, delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the diversity of academic programs offered by the university, along with ongoing efforts to enhance its international outreach through the promotion of academic mobility and the development of internationally oriented cooperation projects.

For his part, the Austrian Ambassador praised the quality of the reception and expressed strong interest in further strengthening ties between Algerian and Austrian higher education institutions. He also emphasized his country’s commitment to fostering joint initiatives and expanding the exchange of expertise in the academic and scientific fields.

The meeting represents another step forward in strengthening relations between the academic institutions of both countries and opens promising prospects for future cooperation.
