As part of its strategy aimed at enhancing the quality of international cooperation programs, the meeting room at the University Rectorate hosted, on Thursday, May 07, 2026, a second coordination meeting dedicated to monitoring the Short-Term Mobility Abroad Program (MCD).

The meeting was chaired by the Rector of the University, Prof. Mourad MEGHACHOU, in the presence of the Vice-Rector in charge of External Relations, Prof. Ali HAMZA CHERIF, as well as representatives of the National Federation of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The meeting focused on finalizing the organizational aspects of the program for the current academic year. On this occasion, Prof. Mourad Meghachou stressed the need to adopt rigorous allocation mechanisms based on previously defined priorities. He also emphasized the strict respect of the principles of transparency and fairness in the attribution of mobility opportunities, affirming that the effectiveness of the program is measured by its capacity to support genuine training and improve the scientific performance of teacher-researchers, far from any organizational irregularities.

In the same context, the Rector of the University presented the main provisions of Decision No. 345 relating to short-term mobility, highlighting the major updates it introduced, particularly the inclusion of language immersion stays for teachers. As part of a practical initiative aimed at reinforcing this orientation, he revealed the advanced negotiations undertaken by the University of Tlemcen to conclude a partnership agreement with a specialized language school located in London, the capital of the United Kingdom. This initiative aims to welcome teachers into a professional linguistic training environment that contributes to the internationalization of their academic and research skills.

For their part, the representatives of the National Federation of Higher Education and Scientific Research welcomed this participatory approach, praising the administration’s efforts to establish fair distribution rules and guarantee the rights of the various categories concerned by the program.

The meeting concluded with an overall presentation of the application results, reflecting the University’s determination to consolidate the values of institutional consultation and transform the MCD program into a genuine lever for the development of scientific research and the promotion of the interests of the entire university community
