The Research laboratory for neurodevelopmental disorders and learning at the new university pole of Tlemcen organized, on June 13, 2026, a study day entitled “The pathway of parents of children with Autism: challenges, skills, and solutions”, in partnership with the Autism Hennaya Association and the Autism Tlemcen Association.
This event highlighted the fundamental role of parents in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Discussions focused on the daily challenges faced by families, the skills they develop through their lived experience, and the practical solutions they implement to promote the well-being and development of their children.
Bringing together researchers, specialists, parents, and representatives of autism associations, the study day fostered constructive dialogue between scientific knowledge and field experience, thereby recognizing parents as genuine partners in understanding and supporting autism.
On this occasion, a twinning and cooperation agreement was signed between the Autism Hennaya Association and the Autism Tlemcen Association, with the aim of strengthening coordination, sharing expertise, and implementing joint initiatives for the benefit of children with autism and their families.
This initiative illustrates the importance of collaboration among universities, associations, and families in promoting inclusion, raising awareness, and improving support services for individuals with autism. It also highlights the value of parental experience as a source of knowledge that contributes to the advancement of scientific research
