Nine Algerian universities (University of Sidi Bel Abbes, University of Setif 1, University of Tlemcen, Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology, University of Annaba, University of Bejaïa, University of Boumerdès, Mohamed Boudiaf University of Science and Technology, and University of Biskra) are ranked among the world’s top 2,250 universities in the US News Best Global Universities 2025–2026 ranking.

The University of Sidi Bel Abbes holds the first place nationally and the 849th position globally; it has thus secured an honorable position among the world’s top 1,000 universities.
