As part of the Emir Abdelkader Algerian Programme, the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies announces the opening of applications for the Algerian Visiting Research Fellow Fellowship for the 2026–2027 academic year.
This fellowship offers the selected researcher the opportunity to join the Centre’s multidisciplinary academic community for a period of up to one full academic year to conduct an independent research project in one of the fields related to the study of Islam and the Muslim world, with a particular focus on the following disciplines:
- Anthropology
- Economics
- Geography
- History
- International Relations
- Law
- Literature
- Philosophy
- Political Science
- Religious Studies
- Sociology
- Science and Society
Eligibility Requirements
- The applicant must be an Algerian academic who normally resides in Algeria.
- The applicant must have made distinguished scholarly contributions in their field of specialization.
- The applicant must hold a PhD (postdoctoral level).
Applications must be submitted through the Visiting Fellowship page of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.
