As part of preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year, Pr. Mourad MEGHACHOU, Rector of Tlemcen University, accompanied by Pr. Bounouar BENSAIM, Vice-Rector in charge of Academic Affairs, carried out an inspection visit to several university residences, in the presence of Mr. Abderrahmane ELHABCHI, Director of University Services in Tlemcen.

The visit included, in particular, the 500-bed Chetouane 1 University Residence, where the delegation assessed the facility’s level of readiness to accommodate students as part of the first student accommodation phase. The delegation also visited the Soufi Menouar University Residence for female students in Chetouane, where it followed the receipt of the first batch of equipment intended for accommodating resident students.

The delegation also reviewed the progress of refurbishment and equipment works. The process of supplying the university residences with equipment and materials is proceeding in stages, with the aim of ensuring the completion of all necessary arrangements to welcome students in suitable conditions.

The visit forms part of the coordination and field monitoring efforts between Tlemcen University and the University Services Directorate, as well as the support and follow-up of the various operations related to the start of the academic year. It contributes to providing suitable accommodation conditions for students and to ensuring the success of the 2026–2027 academic year.
