The proceedings of the International Conference on "the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and the Prevention of Environmental Pollution" (IC-TWEP 2026) continued today, Tuesday 27 October 2026, at the Alcazar Hotel on the Lalla Setti plateau. Organised by the University of Tlemcen in collaboration with the Directorate General of Scientific Research and Technological Development (DGRSDT), the conference brings together leading researchers, experts and academics from Algeria and abroad, as well as representatives of institutions and bodies working in the water and environment sectors.

The second day provided an opportunity to continue academic discussions and to share knowledge and experience on the challenges of protecting shared water resources, preventing environmental pollution, and strengthening sustainable water management practices, against a backdrop of climate change and growing pressure on natural resources.
