The third day of the international conference on the protection of transboundary watercourses and the prevention of environmental pollution (IC-TWEP 2026) continued today, Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Alcazar Hotel on the Lalla Setti plateau. The scientific sessions addressed water security challenges under climate change, the governance of shared waters, and the use of artificial intelligence and innovative technologies in water management, treatment and reuse.

Alongside the sessions, the conference hosted hands-on workshops on flood susceptibility mapping, the use of digital twins and the Google earth engine platform to monitor dam and mine basins, and the integration of disaster risk reduction into local development.

The day ended with scientific discussions and exchanges of experience among researchers and experts from Algeria and abroad on scientific and technological solutions supporting water security and environmental protection.
