REGIONAL SCIENCE PRIZES FOR WOMEN - APPLICATION 2015
The Commission of the African Union is committed to support the implementation and development of science in Africa and initiated with its major development partners, the Scientific Award of the African Union. In July 2010, the Heads of State and Government of the African Union took the decision to rename the program as "Kwame Nkrumah Scientific Award of the African Union." This decision reflects and underscores the success and the critical role of science and technology in the development and integration of Africa. Under this program, the Regional Economic Communities in partnership with the AU Commission (see the rules of procedure) implement the Regional Scientific Award for Women in the five regions of Africa. The objective of this program is to award cash prizes and certificates of recognition to African women -researchers excellent for their work in Earth Sciences and Life, and in the areas of Basic Research, Technology and Innovation.
