The Vice Rectorate in charge of development, planification and orientation (VRDPO) at University of Tlemcen(UoT) is one of the four vice rectorate that constitute the top management at UoT. The VRDPO is directly and fully responsible for establishing strategic plan that aims to develop the university. The VRDPO plays a central and strategic role in promoting and coordinating sustainability-related initiatives across the institution. The VRDPO is responsible for strategic planning and institutional development, including the integration of sustainability principles into university policies and long-term vision. Its also aims to coordinate cross-cutting projects, including those related to environmental management, resource efficiency, and social responsibility. Also its support academic and research activities that contribute to sustainable development goals (SDGs). Through its transversal mandate, the VRDPO acts also as the primary institutional driver for sustainability, ensuring coherence between governance, academic programs, and campus operations.
In terms of direct actions, the VRDPO is responsible for :
- Gathering the necessary elements for the preparation of the university’s development plan projects.
- Carrying out any prospective studies on projected changes in student numbers at the university and proposing all necessary measures to address them, particularly in terms of development, academic supervision, and administrative support.
- Maintaining the university’s statistical records and ensuring their regular updating.
- Preparing all informational materials on the academic programs offered by the university and their professional prospects.
- Providing students with all information that may assist them in their choice of orientation.
- Promoting student information initiatives.
- Monitoring construction programs and ensuring the implementation of the university’s equipment programs in coordination with the relevant departments.
The structure of the VRDPO consists of the following departments :
- The Statistics and Foresight Department.
- The Orientation and Information Department.
- The Department for Monitoring Construction and Equipment Programs of the University.
