A Bridge Between Science and Investment –Retourn on the 6th National Seminar between Students and Investors, Tlemcen 2025

In a global context where scientific innovation and entrepreneurship play a fundamental role in sustainable development, applied biology stands out as a strategic lever to address contemporary socio-economic and environmental challenges. Algeria, with its rich biodiversity and human capital, is fully engaged in this dynamic by encouraging investment in high-value scientific projects.

In this spirit, the University of Abou Bekr Belkaïd of Tlemcen hosted the 6th edition of the National Seminar between Students and Investors on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The event was organized by the Laboratory of Applied Genetics in Agriculture, Environment, and Public Health, within the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences, Earth and Universe Sciences.

This major scientific event brought together students, academic researchers, and investors around a common goal: to build a favorable ecosystem for innovation, technology transfer, and the emergence of innovative and sustainable startups. This edition highlighted the crucial role of biological sciences in the development of strategic sectors such as sustainable agriculture, biotechnology, bioenergy, healthcare, and the valorization of natural resources.

Through high-level conferences, practical workshops, and pitch sessions featuring student-led projects, the seminar created a fruitful exchange platform between the scientific community and economic stakeholders. Its main ambition is to strengthen ties between researchers and investors, attract new funding, stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit among young scientists, and foster the creation of long-term partnerships.

This seminar is resolutely as springboard toward a knowledge-based economy, where scientific research becomes a driving force for innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable growth.
