Official Launch of Doctoral Training for the 2024/2025 Academic Year

In a distinguished academic atmosphere, Algerian universities, under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, hosted the official launch of doctoral training for the 2024/2025 academic year on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

The event began at 9:00 a.m. at the University of Tlemcen, in the conference hall of the Central Library—New University Campus—with the national anthem, followed by an opening speech delivered by the university’s rector, Pr.MEGHACHOU Mourad. In his address, he emphasised the significance of doctoral training in the academic journey of research students. He underscored that the doctoral phase has become a fundamental pillar in supporting scientific research and innovation, calling on students to maintain a high level of seriousness and methodological rigour. He also highlighted the university’s efforts to support research laboratories, provide a stimulating academic environment, and ensure that doctoral training aligns with the real needs of society and the job market.

The event also featured a live address by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, delivered via videoconference from Mohamed Boudiaf University in Boumerdes. In addition, Pr. Bachir Redouane, Vice-Rector in charge of third-cycle training, presented an intervention detailing the organisational and pedagogical aspects of doctoral training, as well as the new orientations for the current academic year.

The programme included lectures by heads of national pedagogical committees in various disciplines, including philosophy, English, information and communication technologies, programmeming, and artificial intelligence. A special programme also featured expert-led presentations in multiple fields.

The scientific day concluded with recognition of the contributions made and a reaffirmation of the critical importance of this phase in preparing highly qualified researchers capable of contributing to the advancement of knowledge and societal development.
