The first day of the second edition of the JISTA-02 Study Days, organized by the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technologies at the University of Tlemcen, took place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, under the theme:
"Universities and Businesses Facing the Challenges of Artificial Intelligence."
The event attracted a wide audience, including university professors, researchers, and students, alongside representatives from partner economic institutions, making this a distinguished scientific gathering.The day began at 9:00 AM with participant registration and welcoming by the institute’s team.
The official opening was attended by:Prof. MEGHACHOU Mourad , rector of the University of Tlemcen,Prof. Abbas MARROUK, Director of the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technologies,professors and researchers from various faculties,representatives from Terrain Metrics Hub, Geo Dzair Solutions, and Sifar Engineering, as well as students from the institute and related academic programs.
In his opening remarks, the University Director emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence in advancing scientific research and fostering innovation within the university, highlighting the need for both academic and economic institutions to adapt to rapid digital transformations. He also praised the organizational efforts that contributed to the success of this high-level scientific event.
The first session featured a series of academic presentations addressing key issues in artificial intelligence, including:
- Understanding artificial intelligence and its impact on the university ecosystem,
- Deep learning models and their diverse applications,
- Digital transformation in institutions: opportunities and challenges.
The session was marked by lively discussions among professors and researchers, who exchanged views on the future of smart technologies and the university’s role in supporting the changes driven by the digital revolution.
